David Sanborn is an American alto saxophonist, born July 30, 1945 in Tampa, Florida. David is most commonly associated with radio-friendly smooth jazz and pop-jazz fusion, along with somewhat of a rock 'n' roll/R&B style. He released his first solo album Taking Off in 1975, but has been playing the saxophone since before he was in high school.
