Gareth Paul Gates is an English pop singer who shot to fame in 2002 when he came second in the first series of the ITV talent show Pop Idol. Gates is also known for overcoming his severe stammer through the McGuire Programme, qualifying as a speech coach in 2004 . So far he has sold 3.5 million singles & albums in the UK alone.
